LC03 3Dmodel

Importing a ‘strange’ object in to the Siemens NX software was easy but making it in to a solid body that I could adapt and take away what I didn’t need was not that easy. After trying different things for a few hours I decided to go and ask for help. So I learned how to convert the object into a facet body wich I could adapt to my needs. Basiclly cutting of the parts I don’t need, filling the holes and then smoothing the surface; all using the functions in the menu>edit>facetbody.

From there of I scaled the model and exported it as an STL file for 3d printing. I sent the file to 3dhubs and selected a local hub. The total cost will be slightly under 29€ for a white, 200 micron, PLA print. Let’s hope the result looks good…
